Environment Secretary Michael Gove has promised to build on the publication of today’s plan to address nitrogen dioxide emissions in towns and cities, with the publication of a ‘comprehensive Clean Air Strategy’ in 2018.
Defra defended the latest version of its air quality plan in the High Court yesterday (25 January), after the environmental law charity ClientEarth argued that the proposals put forward by government are ‘unlawful’.
