Routes to Clean Air heads to Birmingham

Clean air zones, indoor air quality and planning will be in focus at the two-day ‘Routes to Clean Air’ Conference, due to take place in Birmingham next week (24-25 October).

Organised by the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) the conference brings together air quality, public health and transport professionals to share their experiences of improving traffic emissions.

The conference takes place at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre and will include a three-course networking dinner on Tuesday evening.

Speakers include the former government chief scientist, Sir David King, who will deliver the conference’s keynote address ‘Air Pollution from NOx: Origin, health impacts and regulatory requirements’.

Other speakers include Professor Frank Kelly, director of the King’s College London Environmental Research Group, Professor Simon Caporn of Manchester Metropolitan University and Nadine Allemand, deputy director of France’s CITEPA (Centre Interprofessionnel Technique d’Etudes de la Pollution Atmosphérique) who will be giving an international perspective on air pollution.
